Distant Hill Community Pavilion

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously contributed their time and money to help build the stunning timber-frame pavilion at Distant Hill Nature Trail. It stands as a true symbol of community spirit. Now that the structure is complete and equipped with four wheelchair-accessible picnic tables, we'd like to share how the space can be enjoyed by the public.

Here Are Some Guidelines for the Use of the Pavilion at Distant Hill:

• Groups can use two of the picnic tables in the pavilion without a reservation on a first-come, first-served basis. Each table seats ~8 adults on the sides, with 2 wheelchair accessible spaces, one at each end. 
• The remaining picnic tables must remain open and available for other visitors to Distant Hill. 
• Any public or charter school, homeschool group, or community organization planning a gathering needing more than two tables can apply to reserve the entire pavilion space in advance.

Reservations will be considered for schools and community organizations only. Sorry, but we will not accept reservations for private events.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind:

• All applications require approval and are subject to cancellation at the discretion of Distant Hill.
• Please note that Distant Hill Nature Trail remains open to all visitors during events: expect cars to come and go, curious folks to wander by, and children to play nearby.
• Pack in - Pack Out! There are no trash cans at Distant Hill, so plan ahead. All trash must be removed.
• Please do not tack, tape, or staple anything to the timber frame or tables.
• No drawing on the concrete slab. Even chalk will leave permanent stains!
• Please, no glass bottles. The concrete slab is not bottle-friendly!
